New Delhi: Tata Motors recently announced that it has started accepting bookings for the much-anticipated Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Harrier. The vehicle can be booked by paying an amount of Rs 30,000 through Harrier’s official website or at an authorized Tata dealership.
Tata’s yet to be launched SUV is expected to hit markets in January 2019. It is likely to be priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. The vehicle is expected to rival Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and the Jeep Compass.
Mayank Pareek, President of Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “Since its showcase as a concept at the Auto Expo 2018, the Harrier has made huge waves amongst the SUV lovers. With the rising excitement and consistent demand from our discerning customers to book the Harrier at the earliest and be amongst the early ones to receive deliveries, we have taken a conscious decision to open bookings in the festive season.”
As per reports, the car will be rolled out in a five-seat design but will soon feature a seven-seater version. Tata Harrier is based on the ‘OMEGA-ARC’ (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) platform, derived from Land Rover’s D8 architecture. It will feature sharp and edgy design elements for a sporty appeal.
