Puri: In a shocking incident, a woman’s dead body was found hanging from the Shankarpur forest here on Sunday. The woman was missing from her home since Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmipriya Padhi of Baseli Sahi in Puri town.
According to reports, some residents of Shakarpur area spotted a woman’s dead body hanging from a tree in the nearby forest this morning. They immediately called up Baseli Sahi Police Station and reported the matter. Police reached the spot and seized the body.
Police said Laxmipriya went missing from her home on Saturday afternoon after a family feud. Family members of the deceased lodged a complaint at the Baseli Sahi Police Station the same day after failing to trace her despite a frantic search. She was found hanging from a tree in the forest this morning.
Police has lodged a case of unnatural death in the incident and started investigation.
