Keonjhar: A woman sustained grievous injury after being attacked by a tent house owner over a theft allegation against her son in Tangar village under Anandpur police limits in Keonjhar district today.
The victim has been identified as Kapuri Nayak, wife of Karunakar Nayak of the same village.
As per the report, the accused Sudhkar Nayak who runs a tent house business in the village arrived at Kapuri’s farmland this morning and verbally abused her by framing bamboo theft allegation against her minor son. Later he thrashed the victim mercilessly over the issue inflicting grievous face injury on her.
Kapuri was rushed to Anandpur Hospital for treatment soon after the incident.
In her reaction on the incident, the victim had pleaded ignorance on the theft case and said a complaint at the local police station has been lodged against the accused in connection with the attack.
