Rayagada: A woman home guard sustained critical injuries after she was stabbed by some bike riders in Jaipur area under Chandili police limits in the Rayagada district.
The injured woman home guard has been identified as Rina Bidika.
The woman home guard was on duty at Gopanbandhu traffic Square near JK Pur. She was attacked by the bike riders after she tried to stop them for violating traffic norms.
While Rina was doing her duty, a youth among the bikers attacked her with a knife in an enraged state of mind.
Some locals and police standing nearby rushed Rina to District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) and later she was shifted to MKCG Medical College, Berhampur. However, her condition is said to be stable.
On getting the information, the police have launched a probe into matter and to trace the youth who stabbed her.
