Winter Session: Odisha FM presents Supplementary Budget amid ruckus, House adjourned till tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari presented a supplementary budget of Rs 19,380 crore amid commotion by oppositions in the State Assembly on Wednesday.

In the Supplementary Budget, prime focus has been given to five different departments – School and Mass Education Department, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Health and Family Welfare, Energy and Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department.

While Rs 3624 crore has been allocated for Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, Rs 2310 crore for the Health Department and Rs 2143 crore for Energy Department.

Likewise, Rs 1684 crore and Rs 1605 crore have been allocated for the Disaster Management and School and Mass Education Department respectively.

Pujari presented the supplementary budget amid commotion by the opposition parties, following which Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro adjourned the House till 10.30 AM tomorrow.

According to reports, the members of opposition parties created ruckus by running to the well of the House showing black towels and posters. They demanded CBI probe into Mamita Meher’s murder case.
