Nabarangpur: In a heart-wrenching incident, two minors died after drowning in the pond at Paikakatara village under Papadahandi police limits in Nabarangpur district on Tuesday.
According to reports, Raj Bhadra (7) and Jhiliki Bagh (6) had gone to the village pond for bathing this afternoon. Unfortunately, both of them drowned in the pond.
Some villagers immediately jumped into the water body after seeing Raj and Jhiliki drowning in the pond. Soon, they rescued them and rushed them to the local hospital for treatment. But, unfortunately, the doctors, who attended the children, declared them dead.
A pall of gloom descended on Paikakatara village following their death.
