Bhubaneswar: The local Meteorological Department issued thunderstorm warning for eight districts of the state including Cuttack.
Apart from Cuttack, the other seven districts in which the thunderstorm alert has been sounded till 9 PM are Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.
The latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicated that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over these districts.
