Tension Erupts In Kendrapara After Firing At Businessman

Kendrapara: Tension prevailed in the Kendrapara Town after locals staged road blockade at Tinimuhani Chhak today protesting firing at a businessman last night.

The victim Bibekanand Moharana (45) who is also the president of Tinimuhani Bazaar Committee sustained bullet injury after being shot by two miscreants. Moharana is undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Shops and business establishments at Tinimuhani Chhak remained closed while vehicular movement on Cuttack-Chandbali route was disrupted due to the blockade. The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the accused involved in the incident.

 Meanwhile, adequate police force has been mobilised in the area to prevent any further untoward incident. “ We have started an investigation and are hopeful of arresting the accused at the earliest possible,” said Kendrapara SP, Niti Sekhar.
