Bhubaneswar: The Sital Sasthi Jatra has become uncertain now after the Mangan ritual of Lord Lingaraj had been canceled on Friday.
Reportedly, the ‘Mangan’ ritual was canceled yesterday allegedly due to non-cooperation between Brahman and Puja Panda nijogs.
Both Brahmins and Puja Panda nijogs have not cooperated as their previous demands regarding the land issues have not yet been met. The Mangal alati has also not been done this morning over this non-cooperation between Brahman and Puja Panda nijogs.
A discussion between the two Nijog members and the additional district collector is likely to take place today. The efforts are underway to persuade the Nijog members.
It is also being said that incase the issue does not resolve then the Sital Sasthi Jatra may not take place this year.
