Rahul Gandhi to visit Odisha’s Bargarh today

Bargarh: Adding to his frequent tour to Odisha ahead of the upcoming general election, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will visit Bargarh district today to address a public meeting slated to be held near Sarsara village.

As per the schedule announced by his party earlier, the Gandhi scion will leave for Odisha from Raipur of Chhattisgarh in a helicopter at around 12 noon and will land in Bargarh at around 12.30 pm. After heading to the public meeting venue from there, he would address the ‘Parivartan Sankalpa Samavesh’ expected to be attended by around 50,000 people.

Rahul is expected to raise a number of issues such as unemployment, women’s security, agrarian crisis, among others, informed AICC Odisha in-charge TS Singh Deo, who visited the meeting venue last Wednesday to oversee the arrangements. Later, senior Congress leader Hameed Hussain also visited the meeting venue yesterday.

Notably, the Congress president had visited Odisha on three occasions this year. He visited Bhubaneswar on January 25 then came to Kalahandi and Sundargarh districts on February 6. His last visit was on March 8 to Jeypore in Koraput.
