Nayagarh: District administration toady sealed a private nursing home for allegedly conducting illegal sex determination and pregnancy termination. Police have also arrested Sridhar Pradhan, owner of the private nursing home.
Officials of the district administration along with the staffs of Town police station conducted a raid on Saturday night and have rescued a woman and her husband who allegedly visited the clinic for the abortion after sex determination.
Police said that the woman is already blessed with twin daughters. Later the woman has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital for further treatment. Police said that they are also trying to ascertain whether any doctor was involved in the case.
