Balasore: The Jhadeswar Institute of Engineering & Technology (JIET) at Chhanpur in Balasore of Odisha has been fined by the district administration on Wednesday for violation of Covid norms.
Reportedly, Remuna Tahasildar Manoj Kumar Senapati conducted a surprise raid at the private engineering college along with his team and found the students sitting for their practical examinations. The students who have passed the 10th board had were also present in the premises for their entrance exams in Jhadeswar +2 (Junior) Science Residential College.
More than 300 students were present inside the college campus for their respective exams, added reports.
The district administration imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 against the college authorities for flouting the Covid norms.
The team directed the college authorities to immediately vacate the college and warned them not to repeat the same, further added reports.
