Priest abuses woman in Odisha while performing puja in her house!

Jagatsingpur: In a shocking incident, a woman has been sexually abused by a priest in Odisha while the later was performing a puja at her house.

According to available reports, the priest was performing a griha shanti puja at the house of the woman in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha when he tried to sexually harass her.

The woman complained about this incident. The priest has been identified as Samarendra Raul, a worshiper of Maa Sarla’s temple in Jagatsinghpur district.

According to the victim, during the puja the priest asked all the people to go out of the house and asked only the woman to sit. When the room became vacant, the woman was sexually abused by the priest on the pretext of performing the puja.

The woman was shocked and she screamed for help. The friends and the family members waiting outside rushed in. They immediately overpowered the priest as he was trying to escape from the scene.

The family of the victim immediately called the local police. The police arrived at the scene and arrested the alleged priest. A case has been registered in this regard by the police and and investigation has been started in this regard.

However, no response relating to these allegations has been received from the priest or his family till the filing of this report.
