Police Makes Security Arrangement For Diwali In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police and Odisha Fire Service have made elaborate arrangements in the state capital for tackling any mishap during the celebration of Diwali on Sunday. 

Earlier Director General of police, B.K Sharma had directed the concerned district polices to implement the Supreme Court’s order on manufacture, sale and use of firecrackers during Diwali.  

Police said that more than 20 platoons of police personnel will be deployed in the city to tackle any emergency situation. “Concerned police stations have been asked to remain alert and intensify patrolling to ensure that crackers are not busted after 10 pm,” said a police official.

Police have also advised keeping a bucket of water/sand and blanket to tackle any emergency situations. Besides residents have also been advised to not to wear silk, resham and polyester clothes while bursting crackers. Police Control Room (PCR) vans have also been asked to remain alert to ferry victims of fire mishap.

Similarly, the Odisha Fire Service has also decided to deploy two teams each at Jatani, Secretariat, Chandrasekharpur, Balianta and Balipatna fire stations while four teams will be kept ready at Bhubaneswar fire station to tackle any emergency situation.
