Khordha: One person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries after the SUV in which they were travelling hit a truck from behind on NH 16 near Tangi this afternoon.
The injured included junior Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) working with Chatrapur RTO, Pratap Behera. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Police said that the victims were on their way to Chatrapur in a Hyundai Creta vehicle when the driver lost control and hit a truck from behind. “The driver died on the spot while locals rescued both the injured and rushed them to the nearest hospital. Both the injured were later shifted to Bhubaneswar,” said a police official.
Police said that they have seized both the vehicles and have started an investigation.
