Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s much-awaited Ollywood movie ‘Biju Babu’, which is based on the beliefs and philosophy of legendary leader and former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, hit the theatre on Friday.
The Ollywood superstar and Rajya Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty and gorgeous Supriya Nayak starrer ‘Biju Babu’ has been released in record number of more than 90 film-halls across the state. Both Anubhav and Supriya have shared the screen for the first time.
The lead actors along with its director Padma Shri awardee Dr. Nila Madhab Panda, producer Akshay Kumar Parija, and other actors of the movie watched the film along with the audience.
“I convey my greetings and love to the people of Odisha on the occasion of the release of ‘Biju Babu’ in the record-breaking number of theatres in the state. Coincidentally, the film which is based on the ideology of thoughts and beliefs of Odisha’s former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, whom we consider as the epitome of our state (Utkal), has been released just a couple of days before the Utkal Divas (Odisha day),” said Anubhav while speaking to the reporters today.
“Fake news is the real villain of the film. We have shown in the movie how fake news causes communal rights and kills people and what Biju babu could have done if he were alive today. Besides, we have conveyed a good message to the youths through the film,” he added.
Actress Supriya who was on cloud nine said, “I am extremely delighted to see that the film is getting so huge response from the audiences. Biju babu’s name itself is enough for every Odia to watch the movie. Of course, Anubhav sir’s and my fans are there.”
Speaking about the release, Nila Madhab Panda said, “This is an important day for me as my first Odia film ‘Biju Babu’ released today. Besides, we have presented the Bande Utkala Janani, the Odia patriotic song to the people of the state of Odisha. It has been made by legendary musical trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and sung by veteran singer Asha Bhosle.”
