Odisha: Rs. 1.12 crore recovered in house search of Dr Sukant Jena, Gynecology Specialist: Watch
Puri: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt officials, Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended a doctor in Puri district of Odisha. A huge amount of Rs. 1 crore and 12 lakh cash recovered during the house search of the Gynaecology specialist that is said to be the biggest cash recovery in the State during Vigilance raid.
The tainted doctor has been identified as Dr. Sukant Kumar Jena, Gynaecologist in Charichak Medical CHC, Dist- Puri.
As per reports, on Wednesday evening, Dr. Sukant Kumar Jena, Gynaecologist in Charichak Medical Community Health Centre in Puri District has been apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance sleuths while he was demanding and accepting bribe Rs 3000/- after operation and Rs 5000/- pre operation, from a Complainant for conducting caesarean operation of his cousin.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from Dr. Jena and seized.
Following trap, search has been launched on properties of Dr. Jena at Kalarahanga area in Bhubaneswar.
In this connection, Vigilance PS Case No 4/2022 has been registered. Further investigation of the matter is in progress against Dr Jena.
