Odisha reports 296 new Covid cases, 3 deaths

Bhubaneswar: A total of 296 Covid-19 positive cases including 58 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,44,041 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Tuesday.

Among the 296 positives, 174 are quarantine cases and 122 are local contacts. However, 369 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,32,566.

Earlier on Monday, Odisha reported 276 Covid-19 positive cases including 55 in the 0-18 years age group.

Besides the State Pool has 36 new Covid positive cases.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of three COVID infected patients including two from Bhubaneswar, taking the death toll to 8,364 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 76 years old Male of Angul District who was also suffering from Hypertension with moderate LV dysfunction.

2. A 59 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury.

3. A 66 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Post Percutaneous Coronary Angioplasty.
