Odisha police to intensify anti-Maoist operations in ‘Swabhiman Anchal’

Malkangiri: Odisha police will intensify the anti- Maoist operations in the ‘Swabhiman Anchal’ of the district of the state.

DGP RP Sharma, during his visit to Malkangiri district to review anti- Maoist operations there, said that anti-Maoist operations will be intensified in the ‘Swabhiman Anchal’ in coming days and more developmental activities will be undertaken in the area.

The statement of the top cop of the state came after he held a closed-door meeting at the district police headquarters in the presence of ADG (Operations) RP Koche, Special Intelligence Wing IG Ghanshyam Upadhyay and SOG Commandant Anirudh Singh.

Malkangiri SP Jagamohan Meena, Koraput DIG Ashish Singh and Koraput SP Kanvar Singh including other senior police officials also attended the meeting.

Sharma also congratulated the SOG and DVF jawans for their remarkable achievement during the Papluru encounter. He termed that it was the most remarkable achievement of the State Police till now. As many as five Maoists of the Kalimela Dalam were killed during the operation.
