Odisha Police Makes Elaborate Security Arrangement For Counting Day

Bhubaneswar: Odisha police have made elaborate security arrangement in 63 counting centres in the state. Counting of votes will be held on Thursday.

Police said that three-tier security arrangements have been made for the counting centres in the state. The first tier will be exclusively manned by 36 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) while the second tier will be manned by 250 platoons of State Armed Police. Police said that concerned district police and home guards will be deployed in the third layer of security.

Police said that experienced police officers including women have been deployed at the entry point of the counting centres for anti-sabotage checking with required security gadgets.

“Each and every person will be properly frisked physically as well as with electronic devices at the entry point. Separate enclosures will be arranged for frisking of women at the entry point and experienced women police personnel will be deployed for frisking,” said a police official.

Besides concerned district polices have been asked to make adequate arrangement for victory procession of different political parties while mobile patrolling will also be introduced in sensitive pockets.
