Odisha Police Arrests 50 For Human Trafficking

Bhubaneswar: Odisha police today arrested 50 persons during a special drive against illegal trafficking of labourers in the districts of Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Kalahandi.

The drive was launched as per the direction of police DG B.K Sharma. Police said that while 20 persons were arrested in Nabarangpur, 15 persons each were arrested in Rayagada and Kalahandi. Police have also lodged 17 FIRs in this connection.

Police said that concerned SPs have constituted special squads to nab the agents. “Some of the accused are likely to be brought under remand to further establish the connection of the agents,” said a police official.  

Earlier on October 12 police had arrested 41 agents from the districts of Nuapada and Balangir.
