Rourkela: A 14-year-old minor boy was found hanging from the ceiling of his house at E-18 in Basanti Colony under Uditnagar police limits this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Harekrushna Sahu, a Class VI student of a local English Medium school.
Father of the deceased Pradip Sahu said that his son committed suicide when he and his wife are out of the house for some work. “I have brought food for him and later went out of the house with my wife for some work. When we returned the door of the room was locked from inside. We broke open the door and found him hanging,” said the father.
The father also said that he was clueless about the motive behind his son taking such an extreme step. “He did not go to school today. He also told me that he will continue to attend classes from Monday,” he added.
Police have started an investigation after sending the body for postmortem.
