Odisha Matric exam time changed, admit cards to be available from Feb 8

Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Friday announced the change of High School Certificate (HSC) Examination-2019 time. The exam which used to begin at 9 am will begin at 10 am and conclude accordingly this year.

“The timing of the commencement of the HSC Examination-2019 has been changed this year. Earlier the exams used to begin at 9 am and conclude at 11.30 am. However, the exam will begin at 10 am this year. Subsequently, the timing of the opening of the sealed question paper and giving of the OMR sheet and other things have been changed,” informed BSE president Jahanara Begum while speaking to the newsmen this afternoon.

“Earlier, the question papers used to be sent to the exam centres from the nodal centres a day before the exam. However, it will be sent subject wise on the day of the examination to avoid any irregularity during the exam,” she added.

Begum further said that the admit cards for the tenth examination will be made available on the board’s website from February 8.

A total of 572699 students will appear the annual exam in 2830 centres this year. Out of the total examinees, there are 545354 regular students, 25008 ex-regular students, 2106 CC Regular and 221 CC ex-regular students are there.

The BSE has set up 304 nodal centres across the state.

The exam is scheduled to commence on February 22 and conclude on March 8.

Schedule for the HSC examinations:

February 22– First Language.

February 25– Second Language.

February 27– Third Language.

February 28– Third Language (Sanskrit).

March 2– Math.

March 6– General Science.

March 8– Social Science.
