Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch today arrested a Home Guard for his involvement in illegal mining quarry on the land of Jagannath temple in Puri.
The STF today arrested Chittaranjan Badajena (38) currently working as Home Guard in Khurda police station.
Police said that Badajena entered into a criminal conspiracy with criminals involved in illegal mining quarry. “He has been forwarded to the court today and further investigation in the case is continuing,” said a police official.
Police said that several gangs are operating stone crushers in and around Khordha area a without any authority or without paying any royalty to the government and thereby cause serious financial loss to the exchequer.
