Odisha CM Naveen launches, distributes BSKY smart health cards in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched and distributed the smart health cards of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) during his visit to Malkangiri on Friday.

Reportedly, 1,55, 823 smart health cards are to be distributed in Malkangiri district. A total of 381 centres have been opened in the district to distribute the cards among the beneficiaries. The centres will remain open from August 21 to 25.

The smart health cards will be functional from September 1.

Several ministers and MLAs are present in the inauguration programme.

Malkangiri is the remotest place from State capital Bhubaneswar. Naveen Patnaik earlier had started his most effective one rupee rice scheme from Malkangiri too.

This shows the kind significance the CM gives to Malkangiri and it’s tribal people.

Sukri Dhangda Majhi from Bonda community was the first recipient of the Smart Health Card. From Malkangiri alone , 1.55 lakh families will be benefited.

In this type of no frills system, a person will simply go to a hospital only with the card and avail all the treatments without any hassle.

It’s a historic, paradigm shift in the system of healthcare services in india, where a patient will get the best healthcare without any expense.

The Smart Health Card will be provided to 3.5 crore people of 96 lakh families. Each family can avail treatment cost up to Rs 5 lakh per annum. Women members can avail this benefit up to Rs 10 lakh every year.

Odisha is the first state in the country to have provided such facility in the health sector. This card will be given to all the beneficiaries phase-wise.

Beneficiaries of National and State Food Security Schemes, Annapurna and Antodaya beneficiaries will get this card. The beneficiaries can avail health services in more than 200 hospital chains of the country including Odisha.
