Odisha CM dismisses 6 govt employees on corruption charges

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday dismissed as many as six State government officials after they were convicted by vigilance court on corruption charges,  taking the total number of such dismissals to 44 in the past two months.

The dismissed officials include Rabindra Kumar Das, Assistant engineer, PWD (Kudulugumma block, Malkangiri);  Buddhiram Suniani, JE (Dhankuda block, Sambalpur); Suresh Chandra Mishra, Progress Assistant(Papadahandi block,Nabarangpur); Hemant Kumar Panda, Forest Range Officer( Working Plan, Angul) ; Pruthivraj Lenka, Assitant Executive Engineer, (PWD-NH dvn, Berhampur) and Sushil Kumar Seth, Assistant Engineer, Irrigation dept(Hatadiha block, Keonjhar)

The Chief Minister also stopped pension of five state government officials including three OAS officers.

The OAS officials, whose pensions have been stopped, are- Naveen Seth, former executive officer, Bargarh municipality; Sanatan Sethi, former BDO, Khandapara block, Nayagarh and Purandar Pujari, former RTO, Koraput.

The other officials are Niranjan Jena, assistant engineer, PWD, Bonai, Sundargarh and Pitambar Pratihari,JE, Khunta block, Mayurbhanj.

According to the official statement, the employees were dismissed from government service as part of chief minister’s zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
