Odisha athlete to cover 200 km in 24 hours on Wheel chair to attempt Guinness World Record: Watch

Bhubaneswar: An Odia athlete initiated a journey to cover 200 km in 24 hours on the wheel chair today. The wheel chair marathon began at 3 pm from Master Canteen square in Bhubaneswar of Odisha. He will ride up to RajMahal square. In to and fro journey in between Master Canteen and Raj Mahal square he aims to cover 200 km by 3 pm tomorrow.

Meet Kamala Kanta Nayak, a resident of Puri in Odisha who has taken off this unique attempt to set a record for the Guinness Book of World Records.

Kamala Kanta is the first Odia physically challenged athlete to attempt this wheel chair marathon.

The whole journey of 24 hours on wheel chair by Nayak will be video recorded as a piece of evidence. Also, 12 numbers of independent witnesses will monitor his journey.

The Sports Department of Government of Odisha and Better Life Foundation have supported the athlete in this unique attempt.
