Odisha announces COVID guidelines for September month, lifts weekend shutdowns

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday announced the COVID guidelines for the month of September during which it lifted the weekend shutdowns across the State. This was informed by ACS-cum-Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena.

While addressing the citizens of the State, Jena said no more weekend shutdowns in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri in September. However, the night curfew will continue only in rural areas from 10 pm to 5 am.

Jena also said that the marriages, thread Ceremony/ Bratopanayan, funerals, last rites and related gatherings with approval from local authorities shall be allowed with a ceiling of 250 persons (for the entire event) including hosts, guests, priests and catering and other support staff with adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols.
