Odia employees in Bengaluru sacked without notice
Bengaluru: At least ten Odia employees working in a bar in Bengaluru have been sacked by the owner without notice and are struggling to feed themselves as they are yet to get their pending salaries.
The Odia youth, along with many others from West Bengal, Assam and other states, including girls, were employed at BARTENDER, a bar. However, all of a sudden, the bar owner sacked them without any prior notice.
They also said that the BARTENDER owner threatened to beat them when asked him to clear their dues, following which they filed a complaint with the Labour Commissioner today.
“We are facing lot of problems as our employer removed us from job without any notice. He threatens us when asked for dues. He also dares the police and the labour officers. However, today we filed a complaint with the Labour Commissioner and requested him to help us. We also urge others through Kalinga TV to help us,” said Gavind Sahu from Odisha.
