Bhubaneswar: The National Handloom Expo 2019 kicked off at the Unit- III IDCO Exhibition Ground in the capital city on Friday.
The expo aims to provide a platform to the weavers to sell their products directly to consumers without the interference of middlemen. It offers a wide variety of sarees, bed sheets, dress materials, household items, bed-covers, bed-sheets, and fabrics from various parts of the country at an affordable price.
Over 150 weavers and artisans from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Punjab, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have participated in the exhibition.
The expo will be open to the public from 11.30 am to 9.30 pm till March 28.
