Bargarh: In a shocking incident, the mother of a bride was killed during the marriage procession at Salepali village in Melchhamunda block of Bargarh district.
A heated argument reportedly started between Kishori Tandi, the bride’s mother, and her relative due to some unknown reason during the marriage procession. Irate over the argument, her relative hacked Kishori with an axe.
Tandi, who is an ASHA worker, was rushed to the district headquarters hospital as she sustained grievous injury on her head following the attack. However, the doctor declared her brought dead.
Later, the deceased ASHA worker’s family members filed a complaint at the local police station. Based on this, cops detained two persons for their involvement in the crime, informed Padampur Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).
