Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideology and work for the development of the nation forced me to join BJP, said Odia actress Mahasweta Ray while joining the saffron party here today.
“The Prime Minister has become an inspiration for the youth mass in the country,” she added.
The yesteryear’s dream girl of Odia cinema further said, “I did not take the decision all of a sudden. I pondered over it for last few months and finally decided to join BJP to work closely with and for the people who have given me immense love since I began my acting career.”
Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan welcomed her during a press conference in BJP’s state headquarters here. She had announced to join the party earlier on Saturday.
Her joining comes close on the heels of the joining of Odia cinema actors Mihir Das and Anu Choudhury. They had joined BJP on January 20.
