Miscreants loot house in Bhubaneswar after tying up elderly couple

Bhubaneswar: In an incident pointing at the deteriorating law and order situation in the state capital Bhubaneswar, unidentified miscreants robbed cash and jewellery worth lakhs after tying up an elderly couple in Divya Vihar area under Samantarapur last night.

As per the report, the loot took place at one Bishnu Charan Palai’s house located at Plot No.53 in Lane-7 of the area late in the night. A group of miscreants barged into the house by breaking the window grill and tied the hands and legs of Bishnu and his wife Arati.

Later, the looters decamped with valuable gold jewelleries and cash worth around Rs 5 lakhs from the spot.

Dhauli Police rushed to the spot with the scientific team and sniffer dog this morning and started an investigation after the couple lodged a case in connection with the case.
