Miscreants loot from medicine store and petrol pump at gunpoint in Odisha

Bhadrak: A group of seven unidentified miscreants have looted from a medicine store at Aradi square in Bhadrak district late last night.

Reportedly, the group of seven miscreants barged into the medicine store at around 11 pm last night and fired bullets in air.

They threatened the staffs of medicine store and the customers present in the shop following which they looted all the cash worth thousands of rupees and three mobile phones.

Soon after they left the shop, the staff immediately informed to the local police regarding the loot.

On getting the information, the local police arrived at the spot and seized the bullets from the spot that the miscreants had fired in air. The cops have initiated a manhunt to trace the miscreants based on the evidences and filed a complaint as the number of such loots have been increasing in the area.

Recently, a jewellery shop owner was also looted at gunpoint near Machhahata chhak under Sudarsanpur panchayat of Bhadrak district on October 30. Three looters came by a bike and shot a bullet at owner’s leg while one of them pulled out a sharp weapon on the spot. They snatched the jewellery bag and fled from the spot.

In a similar incident in Mayurbhanj, the miscreants have looted cash worth Rs 40,000 from a petrol pump in Manatri Chhak under Badasahi police limits last night. The staffs of the petrol pump who were on duty last night immediately informed to the local police. Based on the complaint, cops have initiated a probe into the loot.
