Balangir: Unidentified miscreants today looted cash worth Rs 4.85 lakh from the manager of a businessman at Kantabanji market in the district.
Police said that the manager identified as Sunil Sharma working for Kishore Agarwal was carrying the cash bag when two miscreants waylaid him and decamped with the cash bag.
“The victim has withdrawn the money from a nationalised bank and was on his way to the house of his employer on a scooty. We have started an investigation after the businessman lodged a formal police complaint,” said a police official.
Eyewitnesses said that the miscreants escaped towards the Kantabanji daily market. “We are trying to obtain CCTV footage of nearby shops to identify the miscreants,” added the police official.
