Balangir: In a tragic incident, a man committed suicide after stabbing his wife over a family feud in Kendumundi village under Patnagarh police limits in Balangir on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Duryodhan Bariha of the same village.
As per the neighbours of the deceased, a verbal duel erupted between him and his wife Kishori Bariha late last night. Till the wee hours today the dispute between the couple had escalated into a heated argument following which Duryodhan lost mental equilibrium.
The accused took out a sharp knife and stabbed his wife before committing suicide with the same.
Locals rushed Kishori to Patnagarh Hospital in critical condition in the morning and called up police.
Police have seized the body for autopsy after reaching the spot and launched an investigation into the case.
