Cuttack: A woman has been allegedly killed by her husband over dowry in Haripur village under Kanpur police limits in Cuttack.
The deceased woman has been identified as Madhusmita Biswal.
Reportedly, three years ago one Rabindra Biswal of Haripur village married Anant Charan’s daughter Madhusmita Biswal.
It has been alleged that a few months after the marriage her husband, Rabindra, had been abusing her for dowry several times.
However, on Tuesday, Madhusmita’s family alleged that her husband killed her. They have also filed a case against Rabindra based on which the Kanpur police initiated a probe and arrested him.
It is pertinent to mention that a similar allegation had been reported in Cuttack on July 8 after a newly-wed bride. Sonia, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital after 10 days of her marriage in 42 Mouza.
