Sambalpur: Kangaroo Court by doctors at VIMSAAR in Burla. A video has gone viral where it can be seen that a youth has been made to do sit-ups, confess and apologize for allegedly assaulting a doctor in VSS Medical College and Hospital. The incident happening in the presence of police personnel has raised many people’s eyebrows. The youth was allegedly abused a doctor.
As per reports when three youth attacked a doctor of the hospital, junior doctors and others present nearby overpowered them and handed them over to police at the outpost in the hospital campus.
However, it was shocking to know that the youth was forcibly asked to do sit-ups in presence of Additional SP, Burla SDPO, and IIC.

As per mother of the youth her son has been implicated in a false case of abusing a doctor. She lodged complaint in this matter in Burla Police Station.
Intellectuals from Sambalpur have condemned the incident. They have termed it as ‘dadagiri’ by the doctors at VIMSAR. Pradeep Bohidar from Sambalpur says, “It is a clear case of human right violation. In presence of Police the youth was made to do sit-ups and beg excuse. But he was sent to jail after lodging a case against him under 307 IPC. However, there is no action against the doctors who made him to do sit-ups (as we can see in the video), which is a clear case of human right violation.”
Advocate Manas Mishra from Sambalpur said, “Strong action should be taken against the culprits. And if we look at the video it can be seen that the doctors are at fault. We take doctors as Gods, but if Gods will do such thing, general people are helpless.”
