KALIA scheme in Odisha: CM Releases Rs 33 Crore assistance to farmers in Puri

Puri: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik disbursed financial assistance of Rs 33 crore to the farmers of Puri district under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme on the occasion of Choti Diwali today.

According to reports, CM Naveen  disbursed Rs 2,000 each to the bank accounts of 1,65,131 small and marginal farmers to carry out agricultural activities for Rabi crops. The assistance could not be provided to the farmers in Puri due to Pipili by-election.

Earlier on September 11, the Chief Minister distributed Rs 742.58 crore as assistance to 37,12,914 farmers across the state.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has implemented the Kalia Yojana to provide agricultural assistance to small, marginal and landless farming families of the state. This is a landmark step for the welfare of farmers across the country.

The farmers are able to access various agricultural commodities such as seeds, fertilizers and related pesticides and agricultural machinery. It has also been particularly helpful in reducing farmers’ debt burden.
