JEE Advanced Exam 2019 postponed due to Lok Sabha election

Bhubaneswar: The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced 2019 exam has been postponed to May 27th, 2019 (Monday) due to clash of the exam date with Lok Sabha election dates. This was revealed by a notice issued by the organising authority, IIT Roorkee. Earlier the exam was scheduled to be held on May 19.

“In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) 2019 and the last phase of General Elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) 2019 has been shifted to May 27, 2019”, a notice on the JEE Advanced site read.

As per the announcement, the fully computer based test (CBT) will be held in two shifts on May 27. While the firs shift (Paper 1) will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, the second (Paper 2) sitting will be held between 2 pm and 5 pm.

The JEE Advanced 2019 Exam will be conducted both in India and abroad on the same day.

The JEE Advanced, which is the country’s top engineering entrance examination, is conducted for admissions to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
