Berhampur: International Women’s Day 2020 was observed at the Hinjilicut Government ITI in Ganjam district of Odisha with great enthusiasm. Speakers during the observation spoke on the important role that women play in the society.
Principal of the college Er Amulya Kumar Panda inaugurated the event and said, “It is always a privilege and joy for me to participate in events which celebrate and draw on the important role that women play in society.”
The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mamata Police SI Samantray, Axis Bank branch manager Archana Priyadarshini and entrepreneur E Sujata who shared their experiences and the obstacles as women. The speakers also conveyed a strong message on empowerment in their speech. Despite the progress that has been made, there is still massive deficit in the society which is yet to be addressed, they opined.
After the meeting winners of various competitions which had been held in the college earlier were given away with the certificates. Besides, a few woman role models were also felicitated.
