IMD predicts low pressure area by Nov 28, rain in Odisha

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining areas of north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between 3.1 and 4.5 km above mean sea level.

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining areas of north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between 3.1 and 4.5 km above mean sea level.

The weather department also said that the cyclonic circulation over south Thailand and adjoining South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persists and extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 27th November. It is likely to move west-north-westwards and intensify into a Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal around 29th November, 2023.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha between November 28 and 29, said IMD.
