Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert for at least four districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT Department districts like Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha and Puri are likely to experience moderate thunderstorm and lighting along with rainfall at one or two places between 12 noon to 3pm.
In view of the approaching extreme weather conditions people in the alerted districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes and advised to take shelter in safe places.
