Heat wave to prevail in Odisha, Alert issued

The heatwave condition is most likely to prevail over several regions of Western Odisha over the next three subsequent days, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional center in Bhubaneswar.

According to the alert issued by the department, the heatwave condition is to sustain in the Western parts of the state rom 8th of June to 10th of June.

As per the Department, the heatwave is likely to prevail in these places mentioned below:-

  • 8th June: Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Sambalpur
  • 9th June: Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Nuapada
  • 10th June: Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir

No large change in maximum temperature shall be witnessed at several places over districts of Odisha in the next few days. A yellow warning of heatwave has been issued for some districts, namely, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur and Bargarh till June 9.

People residing in coastal areas will be more exposed to humidity during the period.
