Heat in Odisha: Temperature to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in coming days

Bhubaneswar: Summer-like temperature has set in Odisha. Most parts of Odisha are experiencing unbearable heat. Maximum temperature in several parts of the state have crossed 38 degree Celsius.

According to forecasts from the Regional Meteorological Department, maximum temperature across the state will go beyond 40 degree Celsius within the next three to four days. Heat in Odisha is likely to intensify further from March 11 onwards.

On Tuesday, Paralakhemundi recorded maximum day time temperature at 38.2 degree Celsius. Eight cities of the state recorded their day time temperature above 35 degree Celsius. Nayagarh, Malkangiri, and Boudh, stood at 36.6 degree Celsius, 36.5 degree Celsius, and 36.4 degree Celsius, respectively.

No significant change in maximum day temperature is likely during the next three to four days. Under the influence of two active cyclonic circulations over Odisha, light rainfall is likely in some districts of state till March 8. After which, the day time temperature will increase by two to three degree Celsius and go beyond 40 in the coming days.
