Group clash over land dispute leaves six injured in Cuttack

Cuttack: At least six persons were hurt in a group clash which erupted in Sukarpada village under Nischintakoili police limits in the district last night over a land dispute. The injured include four women.

As per the report, a long running dispute over the ownership of a piece of land between Sona Khan and Sheikh Nizam’s family in the area took ugly turn last night and triggered the clash.

After initial verbal duel, members of Sona’s family broke into Sheikh’s family late last night and started attacking the members with sticks. Later the fight got intensified as members of both the families attacked each other with sharp weapons.

The violence was contained only after police reached the spot and intervened.

All the injured in the incident have been rushed to SCB Medical in Cuttack where their conditions are stated to be critical.

While police have started investigation into the incident, they have also detained two persons over their role in the clash.
