Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration has announced a 7 day shutdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic outbreak. During this shut down people have been asked to stay indoors.
The shutdown which will be effected from June 30 (tomorrow) will remain in force till July 5. The Ganjam Collector today has declared Ward No. 6,10,12,16 under the Hinjilicut Municipality as containment zone.
The Collector decided to impose the shutdown after a huge surge in Covid19 positive cases were reported from the area. During the shutdown, all shops and business establishments except medicine stores will remain closed in the NAC.
The district reported a highest ever of 96 positive cases and two COVID-19 deaths today. The total number of positive cases in the district now stands at 1367, including 463 active cases.
