Fuel Price HikeBhubaneswar: As per its earlier announcement, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will begin its five-hour ‘Hak Pain Ladhei’ (‘Fight for right’) agitation from tomorrow to protest the steep hike in petrol and diesel prices in the recent past.

At a press meet today, BJD leaders informed that the five-hour hartal will be observed at all sub-divisions, NACs and Municipalities across the state from 7 AM to 12 PM.

However, emergency services will be exempted from the hartal, which will be a peaceful affair, they added.

Many BJD leaders like Prasanna Acharya, Snehangini Chhuria, Sanjay Das Burma, and Usha Devi were present at the press meet.

They threatened to continue their agitation until the Union government withdraws the auto fuel pricing mechanism.

Meanwhile, Odisha BJP has hit back at the BJD saying the party has called for the hartal only to cover up its failure, which was revealed after the Bomikhal flyover collapse.
