New Delhi: Newly inducted Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday said his priority would be to create a bigger eco-system for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
“Every year one million youth come into the job market. Our effort will be to coordinate with the state governments and other agencies to find employment avenues for them,” Pradhan said in New Delhi after taking over charge as the MSDE.
The Minister has also planned to incorporate skill training programmes into the formal education system in the days ahead.

After coming to power in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has carved out a separate ministry for greater coordination between different ministries and state governments with industry bodies.
Currently, the Ministry has three key tasks at hand– accelerate the pace of skill development to achieve targets; bring jobs to the trainees; and put the whole skill eco-system in order.
Pradhan, who also holds the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry, took additional charge of the Skill Development Ministry, while Anant Kumar Hegde took charge as his deputy.
