Fire safety inspection conducted in private hospitals across Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: With an objective to guarantee cent percent safety for denizens in case of fire mishaps, the Odisha Fire Services department today conducted inspections at a number of private hospitals in the city.

At least 15 measure private hospitals which are functioning in the city were checked during the inspection which was carried out by a 15-member expert team of officials starting from the morning. During the check the officials verified whether the hospitals having high occupancy are adhering to the norms mentioned under Odisha Fire Safety and Fire Prevention Rules 2017 or not.

Those hospitals which were checked today are SUM Hospital, Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Apollo Hospital, AMRI Hospital, Kalinga Hospital, Care Hospital, Pradyumna Bal Memorial Hospital, Utkal Institute of Medical Science, Vivekananda Hospital, Sunshine Hospital, Sparsh Hospital, Kar Clinic, Neelachal Hospital, Shree Hospital and Jagannath Hospital.

During the drive the fire officials also sensitized the staff of the concerned hospitals on how to keep themselves and the patients safe, importance of conducting frequent evacuation drills and checking of all equipment time-to-time.

Notably, the institutions not complying to fire safety measures will be sealed after the inspection drive.
